In order to further broaden the ideas for the college party building, discipline construction, talent training and other work, Shenzhen University, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Party Secretary Wang Yu led the team to Jilin University School of Mathematics, Harbin Institute of Technology School of Mathematics to carry out learning and research activities.

(I) Research at the School of Mathematics, Jilin University

On June 27, 2023, a group of 9 people, including Wang Yu, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Shenzhen University, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhao Yi, Vice Dean, went to the School of Mathematics of Jilin University for research and exchange. Wang Chunpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jilin School of Mathematics, Fan Qingwen and Chen Xuosheng, Deputy Secretaries, Wang Haobai, Vice Dean and some administrative staff attended the research seminar.

At the meeting, Wang Chunpeng, on behalf of the School of Mathematics of Jilin University, warmly welcomed the visit of the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Shenzhen University and introduced the development overview and achievements of the School in recent years around the integration of party building and business, party building brand building, the construction of the "double first-class" Mathematics Discipline, talent cultivation, scientific research and other aspects. Chen Xusheng made a detailed introduction of the preparatory process of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Mathematical Sciences, the arrangements of the celebration meeting, the division of work, and the implementation plan.

Wang Yu highlighted the special practices and specific initiatives of the College of Mathematics and Statistics of Shenzhen University in the areas of theme education, grassroots party branch construction, and student party branch activities. Dean Du made a systematic introduction to the construction of disciplines, cultivation of top-notch talents, and construction of faculty and staff of the college.

The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on promoting mutual cooperation, discipline co-construction, resource sharing and brand building between the two institutions. Both sides will give full play to the characteristics and advantages of their respective disciplines, promote mutual assistance and linkage, form a long-term development mechanism, and jointly promote the cultivation of high-level talents in the discipline of Mathematics, the construction of high-quality faculty, and the improvement of high-quality connotation management, so as to promote the better and faster development of the two institutions.

(II) Research at the School of Mathematics, Harbin Institute of Technology

On June 28, 2023, a group of six persons, including Wang Yu, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhao Yi, Vice Dean of the School of Mathematics of Shenzhen University, visited the School of Mathematics of Harbin Institute of Technology for research and exchanges. The Dean of the School of Mathematics of Harbin Institute of Technology, Mr. Ying Ying, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Mr. Fu Ying, the Director of Professors' Committee, Mr. Boying Wu, and the Director of the Institute of Mathematics, Mr. Quanhua Xu, participated in the research symposium.

At the meeting, Xing Yuming, on behalf of the School of Mathematics of Harbin Institute of Technology, expressed a warm welcome to the visit of a delegation from the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Shenzhen University and introduced the basic situation of the School's history of development, construction of mathematical disciplines, construction of faculty, cultivation of talents and achievements made in running the school in recent years. Fu Ying made a detailed introduction of the work and achievements in the integration of party building and business, party building brand construction, branch team construction and other aspects.

Secretary Wang Yu highlighted the construction ideas and specific initiatives of the Shenzhen University School of Mathematics and Statistics branch party building branding, grassroots party branch construction, and party members' theme education. Dean Du made a comprehensive introduction to the history, college structure, disciplines, faculty, teaching and research, and talent cultivation of the college.
